Japanese Yame Gyokuro Green Tea Classic from Fukuoka, Kyushu island 100g

First introduction to Gyokuro and this bag did not disappoint. Great aroma and taste and very very if any limited amount of dust. I only wish It had 2 day shipping. Have purchased a second time already.

This tea is an excellent quality and price for a flavorful, middle-range gyokuro tea. The tea comes from Japan and the leaves are always large and green, as they should be. I buy this as my every day gyokuro. When I want to splurge, I pay more ($45) for their higher level gyokuro tea:  Finest Japanese Imperial Gyokuro Green Tea 100g (3.52oz) x 1 . After a lot of searching, I now buy gyokuro only from Chado because I trust their quality and service.Here is my earlier review:My favorite gyokuro tea and an excellent quality at a good price. Yame Gyokuro shaded tea is also part of my everyday tea, I prefer it when need sweet less jittery feeling for the day.Gyokuro from Chado tea house, is deliciously sweet when infused lower temp and steeped longer. This type of tea is worth a higher price for its type of production.

This southern Japan gyokuro is one of the finest that I have found outside of Japan. It is lively, flavorful, and cleansing to the palate. I plan to order again when I am out.

They were so kind as to gift wrap it for Christmas even though there was no gift wrapping option because they could tell it was a gift.

I have been drinking Japanese teas for many decades, including Sencha and Gyokuro. This tea is supposed to be Gyokuro, but tastes like mild Sencha, or a blend of Sencha and a small amount of Gyokuro. I have had Gyokuro in Japan, and on many occasions ordered Gyokuro directly from Japan, with which I was very satisfied.

Excellent value. Tried different temperatures to yield vastly different mix of umami and astringent taste.From ~40C lukewarm for umami taste, to warm 70C for unique green tea taste,plus varying number of steeps produces all seasons of characters.Beats ultra expensive Gyokuro in taste which I purchased directly from Ippodo Japan.Would buy again and recommend it highly.
