Has the authentic taste
It's not difficult to make mapo tofu at home, but it is hard to get the taste just right. This product duplicates that at home. It's got nice heat to it but not hot-hot or hot-hot-hot, esp when combined with tofu and some pork sausage and green onions and a little broth in the pan when cooking down. I would buy it again.

If you want that authentic Sichuan flavor
The real deal - looked all around town without any luck and wanted to try an authentic recipe. Don't be fooled by the grocery store imitations that aren't even made with broad beans. This has the right color, flavor, and heat for authentic Sichuan cooking. It might cost a little more, but it is totally worth it!

I tried hard to like it. The taste is so awful that I threw it in the trash. I'll stick to oyster sauce, soy sauce and black bean paste from now on.

The Real Thing
I love making ethnic foods of all types. Finding the right ingredients to get the flavor just right is difficult. I was so happy to find the Sichuan Broad Bean Paste here. It is a wonderful choice if you are looking for Bean Paste and tastes amazing.
