KHOMO Horizontal and Vertical Display Stand Capable Cover for iPad 9.7 Inch (2017 & 2018) Transparent Back Case - Dual Origami Hybrid Series - Gold

Looks great and stands sturdy for both portrait and landscape modes. This is just as good as their other cases but it's nice being able to stand the iPad in portrait for games or FaceTime.

I love how the case is slim and versatile. I was looking for a stand that would hold my iPad both horizontally and vertically as I watch movies and read on my iPad all the time! The color is cute super cute! My only concern down the road is how durable the material is at the folding lines as I use it long term. If anyone has any long-term experience with the case, how long should I expect it to last without tearing at the folded lines? Thank you!

This is a slim and lightweight case made with 4 different types of materials. The outer carbon fiber has a really nice textured feel and look. The inner portion of the cover is a nice felt-like material (standard issue with most cases like this). The backing is has a nice smoked colored, translucent design and has 2 different textures/materials. The flat portion is a matte texture and the outer edges are a smoother material with little give to it. This also allows the on/off and volume buttons to be covered as well.This is my 3rd Origami case for the 2017 iPad and each of the 3 had their own Pros and Cons:Brand "F"Pros-Lowest selling priceNice leather-type materialGreater use of magnets - back of the case has integrated magnets that keep the front cover against the back of the cover when not closed (when closed it uses the magnet in the iPad)Cons-Back cover edges are rigid plastic and mine broken in multiple places rendering the cover no longer securely holding the iPad - hence the need for a replacement. (My child has this case on his iPad and hasn't had this issue, despite him dropping his iPad numerous times)Brand "R"Pros-Slim macking is solid plastic, but thicker than that of Brand "F" (probably not as brittle too)Origami design works really well.Cons-Magnet on the front cover was weak and cover was floppy when closed and didnt hold well as a stand either.No magnet on the back cover.Inside top cover was felt and not the material in the pictures and in the previous generations.Returned this as the cons definitely would bother me, especially since I had the same case for the Air 2 and it didnt have these cons.KhomoPros-Carbon Fiber material is really nice and not offered by the others.Tranlucent back is a nice visual touch.Polyurethane edges of back cover offer more cushion than the others.Front cover magnets are strong and arent floppy when close and solid when folded as a standCons-Highest price of the 3Doesn't have magnets on back cover (but doesn't hinder performance as a stand or when closed flat. Folded cover does swing when picked up though)The Khomo would have been perfect if it had magnets on the back cover, but I dont think its possible given its translucent backing. To me, the carbon fiber cover material and and the urethane edges are the back cover out weight that negative though.

It is lightweight, and actually fits my Ipad (2017). It fits, It is beautifully crafted, ultra slim outer shell offers durable, yet lightweight protection. Soft inner lining provides full protection of screen. Highly recommended

Love this ipad case. I wasn't sure I would like the buttons being covered. But, they work great; very sensitive. The openings for the speakers, camera, etc. are perfectly aligned. The cover does indeed turn off the iPad when closed. I've been able to hold onto my new iPad 2017 with no problem at all. It's lightweight and the blue is a very nice, rich blue. All in all, I'm very happy with this case.

I have the black carbon fiber version for my 2020 iPad Pro, 12.9” version. I LOVE this case! I knew I wanted a case that could be used in a variety of positions: horizontal and stable for typing and drawing, more upright horizontal for viewing when not typing, and vertical for when I want to see a full page while typing on a keyboard or watching a portrait video. I also needed the case to be lightweight (I’m a short woman with small hands), and NOT AWKWARD FOR LEFTIES 👍🏽 to hold in the right hand while reading, and to have Smart Cover functionality. Additionally, I needed the ability to securely hold the Apple Pencil 2 while charging without it falling out in my bag. Finally, I wanted a bumper that would protect the edges without blocking the speakers. This case met ALL my requirements and exceeded my expectations. I’ve never bought a carbon fiber case before, but I like how easy it is to clean. All this for a fraction of the cost of the two other popular origami-style cases (Moshi Versacover and Pipetto Origami).The ONLY downside is that there are currently only 2 color basic boring color options for my particular iPad (carbon black or a smooth black), unlike the variety for other models, like orange and teal, and that KHOMO uses a single Amazon listing for all the models and colors, so it’s hard to figure out which models come in which colors. PLEASE STOP DOING THIS! JUST DO A SEPARATE LISTING FOR EACH IPAD MODEL!

I’ve had this since December, so about 8 months, and my quest for a new case brought me to write a review for this one.Pros - I absolutely love that I can stand my iPad vertically. Not everything on iPads are horizontal, and with this case, I’m able to stand it up on my table and use it, and a gust of air won’t take it down. Also, it is very lightweight.Cons - 1, there’s no magnet to attach the cover to the back of the case, so it either flops or you have to hold it. 2, the main complaint and the reason that I’m looking for a new case, is that the material between the case and the cover isn’t strong at all. You can see in the pics that the cover doesn’t line up with the case when it’s in your hand or set vertically on a table, and it’s just gotten worse over time. 3, I also included a pic of the back of the case; I love that it’s transparent (I have a pic of my son in there), but I have no clue where that huge scratch came from. My iPad is always in my bag or on my bed or on the couch.One last thing that I’ll be looking for in a new case is all-around protection. This case has an opening on the left side where the cover folds over. So far I’ve managed to avoid scratches there (crosses fingers).

Having been a big user of Pipetto and the origami style case, like the thinness and versatility, took a punt on this cheaper alternative as despite the former brands replacement, they just do not seem to last that long and are a premium price. Also liked the idea of being able to have the iPad in a landscape position which most others cannot achieve.After purchase, the lilac/violet colour looks real smart, and you can still see the back of the iPad with the clear back and so appreciate the premium look.Landscape and portrait works well also.Just a shame that they do not do it for my iPad Pro 10.5 because if they did I would be replacing my current one (brand mentioned) as it is already falling apart.Less than one year later...I changed my ipad to a pro 11 and now have one of these. Unfortunately, the case that I bought above has now started falling apart. This case has probably only been out of the house about 10 times in less than a year, the rest of the time it has lived at home and treated carefully. So...Dropped this down from a 5 star review to a 3 star as I think with very light use it should last more than a year, not less.

Like:- lightweight, unlike similar priced but arm paining Moko case for the Air 4- decent protection on all edges, for bumps and accidentally drops.- feels good to hold, and nice to look at.Dislike:- easy to mark/scratch the front or back cover, you need to use Mr Sheen once in a while to keep it clean.- with time, I am not sure if the front cover will not properly sit flush on top of the iPad, due to continued use.- sleep wake feature not properly utilised. You have to manually click the power button, to switch off the screen after use.

Over the years I have always had a genuine apple case, but earlier this year I chose a KHOMO case for a 12.9" iPad to hold the apple pencil as well as a case. I was very pleased, so I have also ordered the KHOMO case for a new 6th Gen iPad 2018. I am very pleased. The feel and quality is amazing. Comparable to a genuine apple product at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommended case.
